Click and drag to set the Gate Length to 0%.
Release, and move back to the Gate Length knob.
Now drag upwards to set Gate Length to 50%.
Keep holding it, wait a bit, and see “UP” in a box appear by the ARP Pattern rotary switch.
While the Gate Length knob is still active and being controlled, the interface thinks we’re hovering over the ARP Pattern knob (which technically we are, but…)
Correct. What I have noticed is that if you drag a rotary knob up or down, and leave the mouse button, the mouse cursor won’t stay where you initially clicked it, but on top or bottom of the control. Your drag has probably positioned the cursor virtually over another control, which loaded up it’s value indicator popup. Thanks.
I was going to start a new message, but since this new problem is a result of what was reported earlier, I though I should tack it on here.
Editor 0.9.33
The numeric popups can interfere with careful data entry.
This is on OSX, with three-finger drag on the track-pad.
Test:
Editor panel, lower level
set LFO2 KB track to 0
with one dragging motion, adjust LFO2 KB track to 100%
spend a little time to carefully set it at 100%
a number pop-up will appear for Beat Freq
you can no longer see the value of what you are changing
Same with LFO1 KB Track and Mod2 Pitch Amt (but have to get up around 170%).
Same with any knob in the lower section when coming in range of a knob in the upper section, and vice versa.
If both controls are in the lower or upper section, this doesn’t happen. It’s only when the invisible pointer crosses between the upper and lower sections that the second pop-up appears and takes away the pop-up for the control you are adjusting.
In other words, I can’t get the set of envelope knobs to interfere with each other.
Adjust Amp Env values upwards, the Filter Env settings will not appear.
Adjust a Filter Env setting downwards, and no Amp Env values will show.
Adjust Osc2 Wave, and Osc1 Wave doesn’t show up.
Adjust the Envelope controls in the lower right corner, and the companion control value will not pop up.
That’s all good stuff.
Test:
turn Amp Env Attack all the way down
drag upwards
nothing appears for Filter Attack
that’s good
turn Amp Env Attack all the way up
slowly drag downwards
at around 3000 value, the popup will appear for Filt Env Delay knob.
that’s bad
Test:
turn Mod 2 Pitch Amt down
drag it back up
LFO2 rate will never appear, since it is in the same panel (upper/lower)
that’s good
turn Mod 2 Pitch Amt up to +5
drag it back down
around the -4 setting the popup will appear over LFO2 KB Track, in the lower panel
that’s bad
Summary: you can lose the value popup when adjusting knobs in the lower section upwards, and when adjusting knobs in the upper section downwards, whenever the pointer crosses the division between the two panels.
As noted above, this is an extension of “Spurious parameter highlighting” from Jan 3rd. That time, it was just a curiosity. This time it was very annoying, since I really was trying to set that KB Track carefully…
Yes, it is with one continuous three-finger drag on the trackpad.
I don’t have a mouse.
Breaking up the motions would also prevent the problem most of the time,
as long as one did not cross the divider between the upper and lower panels.
