Speaking of Tremolo....

Damn, love the tremolo effect from the Ring Mod and I use it for that a lot. I want to start using it for other things but I do not have tremolo replacement. Ideally I would get another MF-102, but I am actually running out of room on my pedal board…

I would love suggestions for a good, small footprint tremolo. Thanks.

Maybe I will get one from BYOC.

if you’re gonna build one, consider this…

the circuit board is smaller than BYOC’s, and you can fit it into a smaller enclosure. i built one for my guitar rig, and it does the job…

The Boss TR-2 is really quite good as tremolos go. Very few of the boutique brands sound better to me.

Oh that voodoo labs tremolo is nice…I even have a pedal power 2 that will hook right into…that Boss is not bad either. Thanks.

could you find a way to use an expression pedal or “presets” as in one of the products that feeds 2 levels of voltages into a CV input on a switch to move the 102 presets quickly?

I use an Empress Tremolo and I think it’s great. 8 rythmic patterns, squarewave/tube/triangle trem, output gain and depth that get very choppy in squarewave, and tap tempo- great unit. The Boss TR-2 sounds good as well despite the volume drop (iirc there’s an easy ‘c11’ mod to the older units where you pop off a cap or something and it fixes the drop). The TR-2’s squarewave gets nice and choppy as well.

Today I figured out a cool MP201-Ringmod trick:

MP201 CV out into the Ringmod Carrier In, and wala-- tap tempo and midi syncable tremolo with lfo of choice! Expression controlled as well to manually sweep the rate. The squarewave has a significant volume drop, but the others work very well, ramp and saw being my favorite. :sunglasses:
