Hi,

I made a kind of space funk song, first song I made using only the LP, including the writing process. All tracks were played and recorded, and after that deciding what would fit with it. So no poly synths used at all :slight_smile:

Drums are from logic, all others sounds from my beloved phatty.

Vocals will be added in the future :wink:

Man! I dug the hell out of that. It really had me wanting to dance and I donā€™t dance loloo. It just had that type of P-Funk/Morris Day kind of groove that makes you want to shake your booty.

Very nice track.
I believe you could synthesize the drums too on Phatty, though drum samples are good :slight_smile:

I thought about synthesizing the drums as well, but I decided not to do this. This way it gets more of a ā€œbandā€ feel I think. And making a funky snare on the LP might be problem :wink:

Right now Iā€™m using the LP more and more, almost every part in every track I make I moog now! This synth is so freakinā€™ awesome!

Awesome. Cool track. Thereā€™s a heck a lot to be said for limiting yourself - choosing one, two or a bunch of instruments and sticking exclusively to them - all too underrated in this day and age of unlimited tracks and trillions of plugins etc.

Donā€™t mean to hijack, but regarding using the phatty for drums - I can provide an example of drums synthesised on the LP - towards the end of this trackā€¦ (starting about 2:45) for what itā€™s worth :smiley: .

I agree with limiting yourself can be very productive/creative. I used to download all synths for ā€œfreeā€ but I discovered I was far more productive and creative when limiting myself to the things I actually owned, which was/is much less.

And I listened to your track, sounds great in general, but the phatty snare is totally awesome :slight_smile:
