After 1 year of trying to figure out my intermitant problem of working for awhile and then nothing and having a technician hold onto it for 4 months I found a newly credited Moog service center not far from me in North Toronto (Ontario Audio/Video Service, Brampton). In less than 1 week they found the problems and better yet I have my Source (model 341A, ser. 1351) back in 2 weeks better than new all for only $263 cdn.
Heres what they repaired/replaced:
shorted/damaged proc./power section parts, reseat all connectors/treat with anti-oxidant, resolder PCB’s, clean and test.
parts replaced:
2 E-402 dual n-chan. fet
1 ic-dig.sw.proc.
3 assorted (hi temp) capacitor-filter
I like to keep my gear in impeccable condition and I am thrilled, it both looks and sounds new again. Just thought that I would pass this on as I have asked a few of you for advice over the past year to help with its problem and it may help others with theirs.
