something very very wrong with my Slim Phatty

I left it on to warm up. When i returned I found it making a sort of one second low level pulse noise. Several button lights and the digital indicator were also flashing on and off in unison at the same time. When I switched it off it didnt immeadiately stop but sort of pettered out like a ball bouncing slowly to a stop.

My first guess after seeing this is that the capacitor has blown on the power board but its just a hunch . I removed all the leads and repluged in the power cord. When i turned it back on the exact same lights pulsing thing started up again.

Now since im out of warranty and nowhere near a moog dealer im going to have to try and fix this myself or at least find someone locally who can. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

.

i would certainly look at the PS area. sounds like its running under voltage.

when it comes to caps in a PS they tend to “pop”…so look at the tops of all the caps carefully and see if any have bulged. and then look at the sides of all of them and look for browning of the plastic…

Cheers,
Blackout

it was a blown diode on the power supply…
