SOLVED: Save settings to VST in DAW

Is it - or would it - be possible to save the settings from the plug-in in the VST settings, so that the plugin and synth would start with the settings saved in the DAW project with the VST? That way the settings in a DAW project would be transferrable from one Sub37 user to another without having to save the syxex files.

Any DAW project which includes Editor VST, should keep the Editor settings by the time of saving, and then recall them into the Editor when reloaded (which then should set the Sub 37 with the same sound). Does it work for you ?

No, does not work. I do this

  1. Make project with the editor controlling the synth.
  2. Load a sound
  3. Change the sound by moving e.g. filter which I have mapped to the VST (is that necessary)
  4. Save the project
  5. Make new empty project
  6. Change the sound on the Sub37 by loading another hardware preset
  7. Load the saved project again with the VST
:sunglasses: Play the synth - and the sound is not as it was when I saved the project.

So it does not seem like the VST saves the state of the synth when saving.

(Did use direct USB connection to avoid any SYSEX problems with my MIDI interface)

Which DAW are you using, and which OS ?

Ableton Live 9.6 64-bit OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan

This is strange. I have just tried it and it worked (OSX , Ableton 9, VST).

Did you try 0.9.44/1.1.24 ?

Will anyone else be able to confirm ?

Tried again on 0.9.43 and 1.1.23 and works fine.

PS: Maybe I had a program change message in my MIDI clip that has screwed up the testing.

But it works now. Thanks.

ok great, thanks,

keep an open eye on this, it could be a real issue that we might be missing.
