(SOLVED) MOOG SUB PHATTY - CAN'T RECORD IN LOGIC PRO x

UPDATE - Managed to get this working was pretty simple really. Download the latest firmwire update from the Moog website and follow then instructions but when updating the moog with the download make sure to load up both .syx files together the bootloader and v294. This seemed to fix all issues and allowed me to use it as an external instrument and put the VST on as an fx unit allowing me to edit etc.

I can get the sub phatty to record an audio track and play back but when I have it open as an audio instrument and try to record midi it and play it will not play back??

i’m using
iMac i5 El Captain
Logic Pro x
Saffire Pro 14 audio unit

I have just bought a moog sub phatty and have connected it up via usb and jack. If I try and use the sub phatty as a software instrument I can hear it playing etc but when I record it will not record the notes being played.

When I set it up as external midi
output Moog sub phatty - 1
input 3
Output 1+2
input device saffire output device saffire

I can hear it playing and can record but I can not hear it play back when I have recorded. If I turn local control off I can not hear anything when I press a key

Also having it as an external midi how can i open up the VST and use the presets etc? I would prefer to be able to use it as a software instrument is this possible.

Thanks
