Anyone have any clues, thoughts, speculation as to what it is?
I am NOT asking for people a wishlist of what it should be, but rather a serious stab of any clues or thoughts to what this actually is. Anyone been in Ashville lately any seen the new things being finalized?
My guess is a Rackmount LP perhaps… maybe somewhat like the Nord Modular G2 Engine that’s just got everything in a single cheap rack space.
Hopefully the MF-106! it kills me that they went out of order… im thinking it would be a VCA of somesort, seeing that they have the oscillator and filters. and i think a LP RME is definately in order. all though the response by someone at moog on, ithink it was a vintagesynth.com board, a post entitled “new moog lead synth” (which turned out to be an early prototype for the voyager) started making me (and everyone else of corse)start to wonder.
but i guess we will just wait and see. what ever it is im sure it wil not disappoint.
Not new from Moog. It was something I thought would be a nice enhancement to the Voyager. I originally designed it with a glide section where the VCA is now. I changed it when moog came out with the glide to the filter mod. It was drawn on an an ancient KeyCad program and it shows. So it’s just a drawing and doesn’t exist otherwise.
Mmmmmmmm one new product will be a new version of Taurus?. I remember some clues about this in the forum.
In another “new products” i see the advice of the new access virus Ti, the Ti snow.
I think that Access is walking in same way that Moog do (first, of course) with the LP. An aforable synth with a powerful sound. Not a lot of funtions (i believe that if you want 10.000 funtions and knobs, U must use a VST) but with a powerfull sound (that a VST can easily can´t do).
So i theorized that perhaps why the theremin was discontinued was because they needed the space to produce something else. Like they only had enough room for the Foogers, the LP the voyager and the Theremin Pro.
In the web there is some info about the new realease!
A new (or an old) synth: Minimoog Vogayer OS (Old School). Is an old school version of the new voyager without all the digital implementation. It´s has a new CV (more extensive) but not presets.
The other new product will be Multi-Pedal MP-201. Is a way to control your Moogerfoogers via midi. This new product will be great to automatice and modulate via midi all your moogerfoogers (yeahhhh!! it will be great).
One product for the old mooger and another for the new generation (the visual DAW genetarion).
wow, that multi-pedal sounds awesome…i dunno about the old school voyager though, seems rather redundant considering you can put the voyager in panel mode and just use the knobs sans presets and get more CV inputs with the VX add on.
I found that Spanish site previously mentioned and did a free online translation, it’s kind of funny:
Moog Music has prepared two sorpresitas for the fair NAMM that is on the verge of being celebrated; the first one is the new Multi-Pedal MP-201. It is based on the EP-2; will function with CV and MIDI (standard and USB). It can control to four Moogerfoogers at the same time. Has four LFOs independent and sincronizables and four exits of control. The second surprise can like the fanatics of them you feel: the new version “Old School” of the Minimoog Voyager. It is a matter of a Voyager trimmed, in reality: they have left the analog system, eliminating all the digital controls (pure “old school”). Characteristics of Multi-Pedal MP-201
It works with control of voltage (CV), MIDI (standard and USB) and can control to four Moogerfoogers simultaneously Four LFOs independent, sincronizables and generated internally, that can leave like CV and/or MIDI (4 forms of wave more S% H and noise) fast Configuration of analog team utilizing the function preset to store levels CV (this opens many possibilities with you feel as the Voyager, Little Phatty, feel
modulares and other feel analog) Four Of simultaneous control: each one can transmit CV and MIDI MIDI Clock Sync and Tap Tempo Conversion MIDI-to-CV of four channels Without mechanical parts: the pedal is united optically to the electronics With this pedal, you would have an optic controller with presets for CV, MIDI and USB. You would be able to connect all your analog team, your team MIDI and your computer
through a central controller. There is 100 presets available, that can be utilized through the LCD of the frontal board.
Their price will move around the 400$ and will be ready in the spring of 2008
A new one Voyager
The Minimoog Voyager YOU (Old School) will have the motor of analog sound of the Voyager original, but without digital controls. It is directed to a segment of musicians of certain age that simply they want something to replace to their Model D, and for young musicians that quieran an approach minimalist to their musical creativity. The classical design and the capacities CV expanded also do it interesting pair users of you feel modulares.
The price will patrol the 2400$, in some intermediate point among the price of a Little Phatty and a Voyager complete, and will be available in March of 2008.
THERE’S GOT 2 BE MORE 2 THE NEW VOYAGER…LIKE MAYBE THAT DRIVE-BOOST THE LP HAS, OR/AND JUST WAAAAAAYYY MORE CV OPTIONS…I NEVER USE THE MIDI/PRESETS FUNCTIONALITY OF MINE ANYWAY…I’LL STRAIT SELL MY SH*T TO GET THAT ONE,BUT THEY GOTTA KEEP THAT XYZ SCREEN…
