So i have a

completely original voyager select series synth from 2006. The question is should I upgrade the OS on it? Im not really sure what the benefits are and whether it will truly increase the “quality” of the instrument for the amount of time every one seems to be saying it will take?

Also is any of the factory upgrades worth the $ or time?

Thank you

The software upgrades for the Voyager are not just bug fixes, but also added additional function. The latest added ones are a glide mode for legato playing only, a way to control the local off of knobs and keyboard and other sections individually. And many more I can’t remember right now.

If you have the means of transferring SysEx data and the time to read the read-me file, then it will cost you about 30 mins. Including reading the read-me instructions. And it is a very recommended thing to do a full back-p of your sounds before updating. And some OS updates even need to have an back-up available.
