Smooth sounds? Ringing sounds?

Can any of you gurus help a novice discover a larger range of sounds?

I am new to synthesis, I have the dangerous mix of enthusiasm without knowledge. So far playing with the Voyager the majority of sounds I create are…tecnical term coming…“zzzzzzz ey” and I know it can do so much more.

I can’t seem to get smoothness like “Mellow Hammer” or ringing like “Glass Temple” presets heard on this site.

My Anniversary model does not have those presets for me to analyse and I have no Sysex facility .

I will keep tweaking anyway, but I know that a slight adjustment can make a big difference, thanks.

One thing you can do is to look at the value of each setting. I think it’s in the menu that says show pot values. Set this to on, then find a preset you like and see how those values are set.
