slim phatty upgrade problem....

I was on 3.03 and decided to upgrade to 3.1

I followed the instructions for the mac version.

The slim phatty after a reset is now saying “please send firmware”

but when i run the prog on the mac nothing happens… it just continues to say “please send firmware” ..the software on the mack just runs through to the end as if there is no problem.

i swapped usb cables… still no change.

i tried doing it on a pc using the pc version of the software… same problem.

suddenly it dawned on me that both the mac and the pc arent seeing the slim phatty as a usb device… it doesnt come up.

i assumed the usb port on the phatty is not working… but since i never used it before ..just the midi i have no way of knowing if it ever worked.

one last ditch attempt i tried connecting up a midi through a midisport… still no joy just the same message on the screen.

so the upshot is this morning i had a funtional 3.03 slim phatty working with midi…

now i have a version 1.0 paperweight that just says "please send firmware " if i turn it of and on or do a hard reset by powering up with the master button held down.

thanks for listening… any ideas guys

by the way im on a remote island in the pacific …so if its a back to the shop problem it will be a total pia as thats all the way back to hong kong…

And you have chosen the right pc/mac midi-output to send it to, before you send it?
(I just use pc so I have no idea how mac works)

that was because this thread was under review …since i fixed it i had no option but to post another thread saying i had solved the problem… i thought admin would have just nixed both posts… thanks for the replies .. appreciate you guys trying to help!
