I’ve just purchased a Slim Phatty today but can’t figure it out how to work with it in FL Studio… I also have a Virus TI but i guess it’s totally integration… no midi channels required to have it working properly.
I know i need to configure the MIDI out and INs on FL Studio but i’m not sure how to do it…
I have installed the VST LittlePhatty Editor, going to purchase it once i get it working properly.
So… After some reading i know how to work it throuhg MIDI OUT on FL Studio…
How can i have it working on FL Studio using the VST Little Phatty editor?
I want to be able to work on parameters on Phatty VST and also change banks in my DAW.
I have a Access Virus TI, does the Phatty will work in the same? Or do i need to always record it through audio input on my audio interface?
As far as I know, non of the current Moog gear supports audio over USB -
USB is strictly for MIDI control, firmware updates, etc.
You’ll need to route the audio from your synth through your audio interface if you want to record the Moog audio inside your DAW.
(at least that’s the way it works with my Minitaur, SP, and MoogerFoogers…)
Hi guys.
Everything’s working now, midi’s working, all signals working properly… but, i’m not sure why i’m having some HISS noise with SlimPhatty.
i have an RME Babyface, already changed the USB slot, change cables… not sure what to do next.
Any tips?
Another thing, does anyone knows how can i have it synced with highers buffer sizes? I’ts only working properly with a 64samples. On 128samples i get some delay.
I’m using UAD on other tracks in the mixer, that could cause some delays as well but it’s all fixed and working synced, but not my SlimPhatty.
yes, it’s sending MIDI Clock only. still not working in sync… now not even at 64buffer size.
any help, please?
about the HISS noise is getting my kinda crazy. also the volume signal coming out from SlimPhatty is low. the Output volume is on max.
to get a higher signal on my mixer i need to add a compressor and that means that the HISS noise gets too loud.
Try a factory reset on the Slim Phatty -
It may fix the low volume issue.
(I did that after my SP went a bit haywire and had low volume after using it with the wrong MIDI sync signal - works fine now!)
Also, you might want to check this thread concerning SP noise:
Have you tried using the SP with just a MIDI DIN controller?
If it works okay (no noise) without USB, you might have some sort of ground loop in the USB signal path.
Here’s a thread where that issue and a “fix” have been discussed:
I’ve tried now without the USB connected, only Midi and connected via audio signal through my RME and there’s still a HISS.
no HISS when connected via headphones directly into the SlimPhatty.
tried the same test with my Access Virus Ti and there’s no HISS. connected only through audio into my RME…
any idea what’s happening?
About the delay, sometimes its not even working properly when at 64buffer size.
