Slim phatty demo vid. Arpeggio goodness!

Made this little ditty tonight for fun. Don’t usually make stuff of this tempo.

Nice one  I love that Voyager stand! Great idea for re-use, and probably of perfect height too ?

It is perfect actually. I usually pump the pedal to warm up the oscillators.

Two questions for you (I like the sewing machine comment btw)

  1. the Arp is done via your sequencer, yes? Seems like 2 measures of 16th notes but then you transpose.. does the Slim Phatty’s arp allow for that or is it just like the Little Phatty in that you can have the Arp go across full octaves but not transpose, certainly not after 2 measures.

  2. How is that room (appears to be a low ceiling basement). I’m finishing a space that is just a tad bit bigger; does it get very boomy in there (have you messed with acoustic baffles at all) or do you just do most of your work with headphones?

But real nice. Is the sub bass the Voyager?

Thanks.

  1. Arp is done by switching the slim phatty to arp mode in master controls. Then setting tempo to temp track which is 120. Apparently sending midi CC#90 tracks arp to master tempo, although I couldn’t get that to work ( I don’t think). Anyways I’m holding down 3 notes on the slim phatty for two bars and then switching to another position on the keys.

  2. It might not be ideal for studio setup but it’s fine. I make tunes all the time and I think they’re fine. I’ve got that yorkville LS 800 P 18" bassbin (1500 watts) under the phatty so it gets boomy in here regardless. I can switch the bass off for monitoring certain things when I want.

Sub bass is waldorf pulse +. I always use it for sub bass. Triangular sub bass!!! hahah fuck sine waves! JK
