Slim phatty clock sync with drum machine

I am having trouble connecting my drum machine -for midi clock syncing the arp- to my Slim Phatty. Here’s my set-up:

Alesis Q25 keyboard connected to midi-in DIN on the SP
iDM02 drum machine- this is a clone of the Alesis SR-16, except there is only MIDI out (no DIN in or through).

Since my SP’s MIDI-in port is taken up by the keyboard, is there any other way to get the drum machine clock signal into the SP? Both the drum machine and the keyboard only have MIDI-out DIN ports, so I can’t go “through” either one. Consequently, I can’t send the SP clock signal out because the iDM02 doesn’t have a MIDI-in.

Short of buying a new drum machine or another keyboard (with MIDI-through), what are my options? My goal is to avoid connecting a computer to any part of this chain.

Hmm..I suppose, but then I’m most of the way to the price of a new SR-16.

For owners of the SR-16, would this MIDI chain work for clock sync? My keyboard → SR-16 → Slim Phatty
