should osc1 waveform have any effect on timbre in sync?

hi

should osc1 waveform have any effect on timbre in syncing osc 2?

seems it does not?

Short answer: no.

When 1-2 Sync switch is set to “on”, Osc 1 simply restarts osc 2 on every beginning cycle of osc 1 regardless of osc 1 waveform.

Also be aware that the sound output might disappear completely from osc 2 if its waveform is set to square or pulse and osc 1 frequency is higher than osc 2. Since this would result in osc 1 restarting osc 2 before it can even start a complete cycle itself.
With any other waveform for osc 2 the sound would dim down but not disappear completely, as the start of a cycle with waveforms with ramps up, or down, would still produce an audible offset from zero crossing.
