well folks, my first official soundpack is out at hotelsinus sound design ![]()
here’s the trailer of the pack (those who spot out any phatty sounds are invited for a beer whenever they come by in budapest, hungary ;D), enjoy:

(since it’s not a “song”, i thought not to post it into the “song” thread)
for me, this work was a dream come true - i used to be so afraid of SF sounds when i was a kid, glad to see that now i rule them to a certain extent ![]()
i dunno, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always thought it was kinda uncool to charge for synth patches. I’ve always felt they should be offered up for free. They don’t add special features to a synth, just some knob turns and button presses. I’m not lecturing and telling you not to do that and I’m sure there are plenty of people that are new to synthesis and want some quick, new patches while they are hopefully learning the instrument. But, it kinda comes off as exploitation. I feel like communities such as these should encourage free trade of patches, knowledge & good times. But, hey, maybe you have taped into a way to recoup the money spent on the synth, in which case, rock on!
I tend to agree with muksys. I’ve obtained some great patches for another one of my synths, on another forum, in exchange for some of mine.
But I guess selling them is also acceptable, if the price is right, and if they’re worth it. I remember, back in the eighties, having bought “soundpacks” on “audio cassette” (remember those ?
), to load into my brand new Ensoniq ESQ-1 back then. Only to find out that 3/4 of them were not so great… Of course, it only cost me $10+ s&h. ![]()
guys, just to make things clear once and for all, these are actually audio samples as wavefiles, no synth patches are and will be FS in this project.
also, i’ve used several other kinds of gear, the phatty was “only” one of it. also, i completely agree with what you say about the patches in that respect anyway.
Oh, well, that completely changes everything. Sell away!
