Sequencing external and internal

So I guess I know I can sequence external devices using the sub 37 but I’m wondering if that then limits the internal voices available? The synth can only play two notes at a time but would it be possible to play two notes and an external say drum machine? I’m getting a dedicated sequencer soon enough but just trying to understand the limitations.

You have 2 modes for sending midi out when using the sequencer.

  1. All notes from the sequencer are sent out by midi and the connected device plays the exact same notes.
  2. Only the key you press is sent out by midi. The connected synth plays only this note.

I user 2 all the time to control my DarkTime sequencer who is playing an other sequence on my Oddy.
So both machines are in tune (transpose equally) but with each sound its own sequence. Quit a lot of possibilities.
