Librarian / Send Preset hangs if there is no internet connection

After entering the email addresses, and clicking send, the progress panel appears, showing 100%.

The cancel button doesn’t cancel.
The Escape key stops the animation.
After a pause, a new popup message, something like this: Error / Failed to upload the presets. / Please check your internet connection. / [OK]

Click on OK, and the editor freezes.
Spinning beach ball.
From the menu on the dock icon: “Application is not responding.”
Need to ‘Force Quit’ to quit it.

Of course I know that I can’t send anything without a connection, but I was just wondering how the editor would cope.


Also, the document says that our email client would be opened after sending the preset. This didn’t happen in other tests with an internet connection. Which I’m very grateful for, since I use web-email.

Thanks for checking this, and also for the note about the documentation.

A previous version of the “share” function did open an email client… it’s been streamlined since then (well, apart from the crash when no internet connection). I’ll update the docs.

I tried sending a preset without an internet connection – it correctly and quickly sees that there’s no network, and gives a good error message. Quite decent, I must say!
