just took my new LP stage 2 home. I used it for one day via MIDI with my MPC2500 and had no problems except the occasional fatal error which I corrected by switching the LP off and on again. Now this morning I turned it on and I get this message on the screen- send_firmware sx data error 3.
Haven’t heard of that one. What firmware are you running? Sounds like corruption of the code that’s in there.
Definitely call tech support; likely it makes sense to get the latest code as they will likely recommend; if it’s a hardware problem, best to bring it back to where you purchased it and get an exchange while you still can. (shipping back and forth to Ashville is always an option but expensive and time consuming… not to mention the fact that you just bought the thing!)
Careful, sending the LP midi data while it is powering up can cause issues. Make sure you turn the LP on 1st or make sure the midi in is disconnected while the LP is going through its start-up. Is sounds like it is looking for new firmware, so hopefully sending it a copy of the OS through sysex will cure it. Definately contact moog support.
