saving calibration preset

In the manual addendum, it suggests using the calibration preset as a starting point for making new sounds, stating that it can be saved in any of the slots 0-99.

It seems that the store button does not do anything when it’s on the calibration preset, so I can’t figure out how to save my work elsewhere…

any ideas?

Try using the ‘send cur preset’ option in the sysex menu. Then change the preset to the desired location, and send the calibration preset back to the lp.

I had thought that you could STORE the calibration preset to a different location, just not to the calibration preset slot. If not, perhaps we should change it to behave as I just described.
in the meantime, if you have a MIDI interface you can get around this…
set up your SysEx transfer program to receive SysEx, call up the Calibration preset on your LP, then go to the Master Menu | SysEx Utilities | Send Current Preset. It will send the calibration preset as SysEx data. You can then call up another preset on the LP (one that you are willing to overwrite), and send the SysEx patch data from your computer back to the LP. Voila, the calibration preset saved in a normal slot. You can then make any changes you like, create a new sound, and then STORE it to a memory location of your choice.

Cheers,

Amos
