SAMPLE & HOLD Controller 1125? is there an alternative

Hi guys, i am about to purchase a voyager, i have been using arturia minimoog V & modular V, i use the sample & hold ( like the MOOG SAMPLE & HOLD Controller 1125) feature in the software alot for some handy live moments and now i am purchasing a voyager i will not have that feature:

Q-is there an alternative/modern day sample & hold device or will i have to fork out the bucks for a vintage 1125 controller?

I’m gonna buy the voyager anyway, but i just want to know
Thanks
Ryan

Voyager has S&H (stepped and smoothed), CP-251 has S&H.

thanks i will look into it!

I’m trying to understand what is S+H function on the voyager…can anybody explain it?

S&H is a way of creating “random” voltage levels by sampling the voltage level of a noise signal and holding it for a time. The frequency at which these voltage levels are sampled is detemined by a clock signal. The S&H signal can then be used as a control voltage to control pitch, filter cutoff, etc.

Here’s a pic from an SOS article that helps illustrate:

Smoothed S&H takes this stepped signal and “rounds” the edges.

Have I missed something? How do I get smoothed s+H on my Voyager? I’ve had it two years so will feel pretty dumb if I have overlooked it!

Its a modulation source that must be accessed through the menu, its not on the front panel. Set your mod source to PGM and set the source in the menu, I think, can’t remeber the names of everything of the top of my head.

Go to EDIT, menu 2.1 (PGM M-Whl Source) or 2.3 (PGM Pedal Source) and look for ‘Smoothed S/H’.

You might also pop over to the SquareWave site and download the OS 3.2 Menu Reference. It’s a chart listing every Voyager PANEL, EDIT and MASTER menu function in OS3.2, and is handy for quickly locating a specific menu item when you can’t remember where it is.

Look in Files/Voyager Essentials/OS3_2 Menu Reference
