Predetermined sequence length set, for instant replay.
I play the Sub37 in a predominantly live situation. I love playing in sequences and using them for improvisation.
If it was possible to set the sequence to only record 16 notes, and after the last note, disengage recording and begin looping/transposing from the keys as normal.
This would allow instantaneous looping of played in sequences with no interrupts! You could improvise your sequences on the fly, with no noticeable stops in performance.
As it stands, I have to play the sequence (often 2 handed), switch over to play mode, then hit a key. Also, under pressure, hoping I played the correct amount of notes (8, 16, 32 etc.)
This would be an absolutely amazing feature. How it could be implemented with the current switch for REC/PLAY, I’m not sure. I personally would rather just have it stay in record and disengage after the set notes are played until switched back into record.
