rogue vs. micromoog

i assume this topic will always be up for debate, but i’m looking for a little moog that can do fat bass lines and the occasional growly lead. the prodigy goes for too much on ebay nowadays ($600-$850) and the rogue and micro tend to go for the same amount($450-$600).

i’m sure both will do the trick, but i was just wondering if there was a hands down one over the other in regards to “fullness” in tones. also i noticed that synthfool has sworn off working on rogues and other “budget” synths, but he’ll still restore micromoogs. why is that? (i’d ask him, but he’s busy guy).

I can’t speak for Kevin but his services are in demand from high profile customers and he gets a lot of business with large systems (modulars esp). This kind of work can consume a lot of time.

As for Micro vs Rogue, I’d say the Rogue fits your needs. The Micro with the bass mod is good for bass and FX but I hardly used it for leads being a single oscillator synth. The Rogue can do ballsy leads.

how osc’s does the rougue have?
