rogue trig emulation with voyager

Hi

I am trying to emulate some rogue-ish sounds with the voyager. I used to own a rogue and specifically liked its trig function which generates constant repeating signals.

What I am trying to do is to make this “trig” sound, i. e., a repeating bass blip that continuously plays a single note, with the voyager.

So far I have managed to do this by using osc 3 on LO to modulate another oscillator and achieve a similar effect.

the only thing i didn’t manage to do is to make the speed of this trig constant over the keyboard rannge. i. e., higher notes will play the blip-blip-blip faster than lower keys.

does anyone have any ideas or tips how i can make such a sound with the same speed over the entire keyboard range?

Or can such a sound be made with a cv expander or control processor? (I know it’s easy to do with an external sequencer, but i am trying to figure out how it can be done without midi…)

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

martin

All you should have to do is switch the osc 3 keyboard control to ‘OFF’. This will prevent the key voltage from changing the rate of the third oscillator, making your sound constant across the keyboard.

If you have the CV expander, you can probably take the Square wave LFO output signal and route it to the Voyager’s “Gate” input. This will probably work as an “auto-trig” like the one on the Rogue. The LFO signal may need to be boosted to work as a proper repeating gate, you’ll have to try it. But this will give you the same effect as the switch on the Rogue.

Without the using the external gate, the LFO is only modulating the filter, not re-triggering the Envelopes (as on the Rogue).

Thanks, Eric and Greg - The KB Cont 3 Off switch did the trick!
