Rogue Problem

Hey guys

Awhile back, I had an incident with my Rogue. It was sittin gin the trunk of my car with a very small amplifier, and to my own stupidity I turned a corner rather sharply. There was a sliding and then a slamming, so I opened my trunk to find my amplifier on top of the Rogue. There was no damage, except for one thing: My noise slider was sitting at a 45 degree angle from the board.

I bent it back into shape, and it worked fine. After awhile though, the noise would come, even though my slider’s at 0. it’s as if the slider was at 10, all I hear is this KKKKKSHHHH when I’m playing, even though the slider’s at 0! sometimes I’ll get lucky, and there’ll be no noise. But any sudden vibrations, and it comes back. Then I have to flick the slider until the noise stops.

It’s a TOTAL DISASTER to work with.

I was thinking of opening it up and clipping the noise from the rest of the board, but I don’t want to do anything too drastic.

does anybody have any idea of what’s going on with my synth?!

Your slider probably has a cracked resistive element or has broken a PC board connection.
It could be as simple as a resoldering job or the slider itself could be completely broken.
A board trace or traces could be cracked also.

Removing the slider completely will probably stop the noise.
