Hi all… first post here!
I bought an old Rogue recently; it had various issues, which have all been sorted, but now, I’ve just tried the audio in with the headphone out from my Korg Volca and a hi-z dynamic mic, and I get nothing from either. The keyboard/noise generator still work - I’d assumeed I’d have to switch between external source and kbd/noise, but can’t see any options. Any assistance would be gratefully received… I just hope this isn’t yet another thing that needs fixing
Hello and welcome !
The signal connected to the external input jack is passing thru the filter and VCA. You have to open the filter (raising the cutoff slider) and be playing a note on the keyboard to open the VCA, or have the “VCA Mode” switch in the “bypass” position (in the countour generator section), in order to hear it at the output.
If still nothing from the input signal is heard at the output after doing all that, then something is wrong.
(note that there is no level adjustment for that external signal, so it could be masked by the internal sounds if its level is low. In that case, close all the mixer section in order to better hear it alone.)
Alain.
Hi Alain
Thanks for your quick reply. I’ve tried the Volca, and with the generator set to ‘bypass’ it works! Thanks very much. IThe signal is a bit lower than the oscillators… is this to be expected?
All the best
Jez
Thanks Alain - not sure if my reply got through. I turned the EG to bypass and it works. The signal is fairly quiet, but at least I know it works. Thanks for sorting this so quickly.
You’re welcome.
Yes the signal will be a little softer in volume than internal sound sources, that’s to be expected.
BTW, your first few messages here will be moderated before being posted, and that’s why they don’t show up immediatly. It’s to eliminate spammers. After a few posts they should show up instantly.
