RME OSCILLATOR TRACKING PROBLEM

Hello;

I hope someone can answer this…

I bought my RME used about two years ago, updated the firmware and have been using it without problems since.
Last night I noticed that osc 2 was not tracking correctly (pitch per octave?). Osc 1 seems to be fine but when I set osc 2 to match the frequency of osc 1 at middle C, then play an octave or 2 up or down the keyboard, osc 2 doesn’t follow osc 1’s pitch correctly.

This seems to be a calibration issue. I assume there is an internal tracking adjustment for the oscillators?.

I’ve been employed in commercial electronics manufacturing and repair for over 30 years (technician, engineer) so I’m sure I could handle the calibration myself IF I had the procedure…

Any thoughts on this? please?

Thank you!

Glenn Fin

If you’re a tech, you could email Moog directly and try to get (buy?) the service manual from them. Your RME might need a small re-calibration of the scale of OSC 2 .

But be aware though that there are 22 trimpots in there! :open_mouth: So don’t try to guess which ones you need to touch! :wink:

Hi and thanks for the reply;

Yes, I’m a tech, a real tech, not a “board swapper” :wink: … I’ll contact them and see if I can get info on adjusting the scaling for osc 2 and 3… I don’t need the entire service manual.

Ashville is only a few hours from here (Winston Salem) I sure would like to visit them and get a factory tour.

:sunglasses:

You’re welcome Glenn. That’s a great idea! I wish I didn’t live so far away so I could do the same. I hear Moog Music folks are very friendly and passionate about their work.

Have a nice trip !
