RME 2.6 OS to 3.5?

Hey guys,

Just got my RME today, and it’s awesome. I was just curious, if I wanted to update my OS from 2.6 to 3.5, is it as simple as a download/install? Or is there some other update I’d have to do to get the 7 banks of presets?

(I have a low model number, 0048, and I’m pretty sure the OS hasn’t been changed or updated since then)

If you only have one bank, you have to send it to Moog to do an upgrade for the seven banks.

I think that it can be done if you have a good tech out there, but to order it, I think, was in the neighbourhood of $4-500 Cdn. I was looking into it for my RME.

You do not have to update the RME with additional banks…you can just update the OS with the lastest version without the hardware upgrade…it’s just optional.

Oh nice.. so the hardware upgrade is just for the additional banks? But I can still update the OS to the current version? Thats good news.

The additional banks would be nice, but not worth 4-500$ for me. I can do Sysex dumps if I make more than 128 awesome sounds.
