How does the Voyager couple with an EH Cathedral stereo reverb stomp box?
Anyone ever tried it?
I use the EH Holy Grail, and it sounds great on either the “spring” or “hall” settings, as long as the unit’s not cranked all the way up to ten- At that point you lose a little gain and it starts sounding too washed out-
The EHX Cathedral is a quite amazing unit. Sounds very good with guitars as well as synths -eventhough I don’t own any Voyager; vocals are the next stop for me, and I’m sure it will do the job.
If you are after a Massive Attack style reverb, not sure you will like that one. The Cathedral is more in the so-called warm sound department. Setting the Blend at 100% and a short Reverb Time allows sounds with less of the original grain but very interesting nonetheless.
I don’t have an EH Cathedral. However since you ask how it might couple to the Voyager, I put my reverb at the tail end, before the board. In other words, I have the “stereo” outputs from my Voyager going into the reverb, and then the outputs from the reverb going into the board.
