Any ideas on the resale value of a mint-condition Minimoog from the 1969-70 period (model A), for the serial range ending in the months of December 1969 and January 1970?

I’ll get my mortgage now shall I?!!

What I mean by “resale value” is the fact that how much a mint-condition Model A could resell for in later years. I am looking for one of these.
How reliable were these model A’s anyway?

I thought they were just a few prototypes and none made it to the market…

Models A/B/C are not for sale. They were only prototypes and as far as I know there are only a VERY few of them ; one Model A, a couple of Model B’s, and four Model C’s; if I remember right the one and only Model A is/was owned by Mr. MOOG himself but is now loaned to a big museum.

Nope - the sole existing model A had belonged not to Dr. Moog, but to David Borden of Mother Mallard. David Borden was a “beta tester” from the Trumansburg days. He donated this machine to Audities. This box used pc boards from the modulars.

Two model B’s were built, one was destroyed in a pawnshop fire. Dr. Moog had the other one and he donated that to Audities also. These boxes also used pc boards from the modulars.

Four model C’s were built for field testing, Audities has one of them. Only the fourth is unaccounted for. These were hand wired point to point.

Audities also has model D numero uno #1001.

I helped Audities set up a vintage keyboard display at the winter NAMM 2000 show, including all the Minimoog prototypes. They were all working and making noise. I got to play all of them, the model B sounded the best.

Thanks for the history lesson and the photo.

GOOD STUFF!
