Request: CV to Midi converter for MiniMoog use?

Does anyone have a suggestion on a good CV to Midi converter for use on an original MiniMoog? I’ve seen several out there, and wonder if there is particularly good one.

Thanks!

I have the Lintronics MIDI retrofit for my model D Minimoog and it is excellent.

Click on “Minimoog” on the left and you’ll see the page.

Well worth the price. This is the only interface that eliminates the “droop” problem other MIDI/CV have when using the Minimoog’s OSC IN jack. MIDI control of pitch bend, modulation, filter, sustain, glide on/off, pedal controller can be assigned to pitch/filter/volume, and adds independent LFO with all the features of VCO3 (plus S&H and some) so you can free VCO3 for audio purposes. Responds to note velocity and aftertouch.

Hi – how difficult was it to install? I’m fairly handy with a soldering iron as long as I have good instructions, but would still like to know. Thanks

Malcolm

It wasn’t hard to install, instructions were well written out and clear.

The Lintronics board sounds intriguing. And according to MC, anyone who’s somewhat competent with electronics and a soldering iron can install it.

Qwave and THM also recommend the Lintronics board.

Where would the three holes for the MIDI I/O (In, Out, Thru) need to be drilled?

I had a CV Out jack installed in mine several years ago to drive other synths (specifically, an Oberheim SEM) with the Mini keyboard. I want to keep that and add the MIDI control.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I found out about this after purchasing a Kenton (not that Kentons aren’t good). May be worth a look.

The Lintronic build in MIDI interface is the best inside the Moog.
And for external converters I recommend the EES CV-7. This interface in a single height 19" rack housing is able to scale, trim and adjust the coltage curve very detailed to match the analog synth which is most likely not 100% 1V/oct. And I is also giving you an dedicated LFO. Ofcause 14 bit pitchbend and selectable gate settings (different voltages and S-trigger).
The best is, that it is doing this to 7 analog synths a time.
I sold mine when I got the Lintronic interface installed by Rudi Linhart himself. And Rudi is also a very good and experienced on Minimoog repair jobs.

Just my 2 cents.
