Remake of a 34 years old song...

Hi everyone. I thought I’d share this with you. It’s a song from 1978 called “Tout Petit La Planète” by (EDIT) BELGIAN artist Plastic Bertrand that was very popular at the time.
Redone by myself on Minimoog D, Korg DW8000, and Alesis Ion vocoder.

Enjoy.

P.S. The “guitar lead” near the end was done on the Mini with the “feedback” trick to simulate guitar overdrive.

That’s pretty cool! I looked them up on YouTube. Great band!

I just washed the dishes to this- nice! the lead tone is delicious!

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: don’t you mean BELGIAN artist Plastic Bertrand !!?!

Oooops.

Thanks. Glad I could entertain you while doing a boring chore…

The “lead tone” is 2 sawtooth same octave very slightly detuned, passed thru a fully opened filter with the sound sent back into the external input just on the verge of self-oscillation…

I had tried this before on my Old School and, although the result was interesting, it didn’t produce as “delicious” a sound as this… I think the Mini D’s VCA design might have something to do with it.

Thanks Voltor. Sometimes simple is still good.

Minimalism…it is a GOOD thing. :sunglasses:

Hey man, I’m listening to it now. I’v not heard the original, but this sounds great. Wonderful, wonderful tones and great musicianship too!

Thanks Kenneth, glad you like it.

Alien,

Thanks- that is kick ass.

Dave

Ca plane pour moi!

Haha! I’m pretty sure you’re one of the very few people here who can understand the lyrics in that song. Not that they’re very thoughtful anyway…hehehe…

Thanks!

“Minimalism” can be quite complex… just repetitious.
