Reloading factory presets?

I just got my Sleect Series Voyager, and I know it’s just a matter of time before I overwrite one of the presets accidentally. (I may have already done it to the “Wish you were here” patch".

Is there a way to reload the factory banks and presets? I’ve got the newer memory/OS with the 7 banks. Are they available as a download somewhere?

I have the Editor Librarian software, and should be backing up my sounds, I know. But this seems like something that should be downloadable.

Feel free to tell me to RTFM, or refer me to another post. But I did look in both for info on this before posting.

Thanks in advance,

Actually it looks like I wrote over the “1976” patch from bank G patch 11 with the name “Wish You Were Here”. But it’s not the same sound as the patch of the same name in bank F patch 11. It’s just a short high pitched chirp…

Manual is open in front of me, learning as fast as I can while still having fun.

I see, just found the “Factory Sounds” paragraph on page 37.
Is this what I should do? I have not created any presets. Will this restore all 7 banks of sounds? I am thinking yes, but would appreciate hearing from one of you vets before reformatting all my banks with the click of a button.

YES, RTFM

Just kidding! There is a factory restore option in the Voyager (and LP for that matter) which restores the presets to there shipped values. Please feel free to explore the sound possibilities without fear!!

Thanks theglyph.
But this appears to have scrambled things a bit.
The content of bank G is now identical to that of bank E. And bank D for that matter…

Perhaps I did not grasp the concept, does this only restore one bank at a time? Do I have to specify what bank content I am restoring? If so, I don’t see an option for this.

What am I doing wrong here? The bank sounds definitely don’t match the patches that were there before, or those described in Appendix C of the manual.

Certainly no crisis here. I’ve plenty of sounds to play with. But I’d like to get back to the state it was in when I received it a few days ago.

Thanks in advance,

Well, I was trying to avoid shooting myself in the foot and have done exactly that.

Rookie error.

I can’t seem to find an easy way out of this.

I checked this thread:
http://moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4221&highlight=factory+sounds

And it sounds like there is no way for me to restore the lost banks without having the banks backed up or stored elsewhere, which I don’t. Any chance someone could send me the banks to reinstall, or tell me where to find them?

Also, is there a PDF version of the OS 3.3 manual? All I can find is 2.5 and the preset bank lists do not match up.

Thanks in advance,

I got it now.
Thanks for listening…

anytime bud! one of the nice things about using the V is that you can play around all you like and with no worries as it is all an easy reload if necessary. Did you buy the editor?

Thanks Greg!
I feel bad being a newbie hear and asking question after question. The preset confusion was something I had to get through myself, and it helped me learn about the Voyager and the software.

I did end up getting the Editor Librarian software for the Voyager. I made a backup up the 7 banks of presets once everything was restored. I’ve got both manuals open here learning as fast as I can.

I am a little confused by the library function of the Editor software. Is there a way to play sounds from the library area of the editor window? Not sure what good it is if you can’t… Is the idea to get all the presets into the library, then load them back to the Voyager as needed, or in a way that makes sense to the user? For instance:
-Bank 1 Bass Sounds
-Bank 2 Lead Sounds
-Bank 3 Motion and Special FX
Etc…

I am curious what’s working for other users.

Have I mentioned how much I love this synth?
