recreating a George Duke lead on the Voyager

I guess the title says it:

have any of you guys/girls tried it?

George Duke always had this wonderful Minimoog lead sound, that I am curious to know how to recreate.
It can be heard on for instance:
-Morning Sun (Don’t Let Go)
-Love Reborn (Brazilian Love Affair)
and numerous others, but I like these 2 a lot.

Hello,

The Minimoog D leads George Duke uses aren’t that complicated, in that they sound like basic square or pulse leads with spikey, plucked envelope settings.
He said in an interview some years ago, that he likes the lute, so he seems to use this as a patch model, but some of the leads like on “Love Reborn” have a tone like a pan flute, but with lute/guitar envelope characteristics.
You hear that on the track, “The Future”:

He sometimes used a Vox wah on leads, like the one at the end of Stanley Clarke’s, “Journey To Love”, no doubt, one of my favorite
synth solos ever played:

the voyager old school patch book has a couple of george duke inspired settings…"the duke’ is a single oscillator saw patch. “george’s narrow pulse” uses 2 osc’s and osc3 as a mod source.

On Morning Sun, and on many other of George’s earlier sounds, there’s a Mutron phase shifter. That was a huge part of the awesome Don’t Let Go sounds.

George Duke liked to use a Minimoog and Arp Odyssey together.

An FYI: These patches were adapted for the Old School from the Voyager factory presets. Both patches are from the Thomas Wolf bank - ‘George’s Narrow Pulse’ is patch #3, ‘The Duke’ is patch #62.
