I have some years’ experience of using Logic on the Mac, and have only just got my first “iDevice”, an iPod Touch. I am still learning how to use it for music (or anything, for that matter), so I have a lot to learn about how iOS works, and what it is and isn’t capable of.
Basically, I’m trying to find out to what extent I can use the iPod Touch as a “DAW in my pocket”. I’ve bought Animoog, Funkbox and GarageBand so far, and am having a great time with the first two - GarageBand less so, as I’ve never used either the Mac or iOS versions before (always Logic) so I’m struggling a bit to understand the “GarageBand way”!
One thing I’m wondering: is it possible (a) to run Animoog and GarageBand at the same time on the iPod Touch (TBH, I still haven’t figured out iOS multitasking
); and if it is possible, can anyone tell me if I could route the output of Animoog into GarageBand “in software”, and record an Animoog part as a GarageBand track (all on the iPod, without an additional device)?
If GarageBand can’t do this, could another iOS multitrack recorder app, like MultiTrack DAW?
Apologies if (as I suspect) this is largely outside Animoog’s “sphere” - I’m still in the early stages of learning the ropes here, but I’m already hooked on what this little fella is capable of ![]()
Many thanks,
Tim.
