Since the Moogerfooger line no longer includes a delay, can anyone suggest another make of delay that would compliment the other foogers? Preferably something with a feedback loop.
It’s not analog, it’s digital, and I don’t own any MF pedals (I just like to read these forums) but, all that considered…
I contemplated the Moog delay for a long time, and then decided I needed more than a second’s memory. So I went for the Line 6 DL4 delay modeler.
I don’t use much on the pedal (it can do a lot), but I use the looper section all the time.
There are probably better loopers out there with more features, and the Line 6 DL4 has its quirks, but the user interface is totally simple (I hate punching in parameters on LEDS and this thing is just a stomp box) and it’s built like a brick and it’s idiot-proof. I come from the old school of putting two tape recorders together with one reel of tape and a mixer (classic tape delay) and the looper on the DL4 takes me right back there… But of course, it’s digital!
The Akai Headrush is supposedly very good. I haven’t used it. I own a Line 6 Echo Pro rack unit that I like, but it certainly is not as portable as a pedal.
I use a pair of Line6 Echo Parks. They model analog and tape delays as well as digital delay. They sound great, tiny, portable, rugged, and they have stereo i/o. By using a pair, I can put other effects between them (generally a pair of MF-103’s).
This one is about to be released. I’m not recommending it because I haven’t tried it yet but it’s got some very nice features. I’m eager to try it out.
What’s the problem with Line 6? I use the Line 6 Delay Modeler, and find it very useful, especially the loop sampler.
(For the record, I use it in conjunction with a Lexicon MPX550, which does some good echo stuff as well as the classic reverbs. I’d recommend the Lexicon to anyone, but I didn’t mention it earlier as the OP asked about loops.)
I too use(d) the line 6 Delay modeler but until now i’ve paid $$$ for repairs… too sensitive I guess… stopped messing with it after six months of purchased. no more money… no more patience
Yeah, I’ve only played with Digital delays, want to try something analog, being that my favorite musics use em. I may as well try it out.
So, the fooger delay seems like the king of em all…but what else is there out there that smokes? MemoryMan? Aqua Puss? some old Ibanez pedal? Its gotta be portable, something I can plug my voyager into fo sho!
I live in Greece so it’s kind of hard to get in touch with them… As for their dealers here ,I remember waiting for more than two months for a new D/A converter…
Yes, the Blacet caugh my attention, but it requires a chassis, powerSupply…
Anything similar to a fooger? I’m really interested in trying out a famed Maxon AD-900…
Trying to see what luck others have had. Ideally a tape delay is my 1st choice, but they’re big, and expensiv. Cut the price in half, BOOM you got the Maxon…
Good question about the memory man… I looked on ElectroHarmonix’ web site, they said it had, I think 550 MS. Wasn’t that the same time the 'fooger pedal had?
