Rackmount kit question

I currently only have 1 cp251 sized unit. I won’t be able to get the Vx351 (even though I don’t have a voyager) as I anticipated to fill the hole in my rack. My solution is to mount the Cp251 in the middle by tapping a few holes.

Can anyone tell me if this is really possible, like I have read on the product page that there is a power harness included that will allow the Voyager to power the Cp 251. Can anyone tell me about this? Is there a hole that will allow me to mount the CP in the center and still have access to the power point in the back of the unit?

THe reason why I approach this is because I don’t want to remove the Cheek Piece and have a huge gaping hole in my rack by mounting the CP on the side.

Does anyone know if what I am proposing is possible…like drilling holes and still being able to attatch the screws due to the metal bending outward?

I disconnected the jumper between my 251 and 351 because of noise. Moog is aware of the situation and they recommend using the power input on the top of the unit if you have that problem.

As far as drilling, go ahead. I have a KLON Centaur and a Mayer Voo-Doo Vibe mounted on one of the Moog 3-space racks. Didn’t have to mod the pedals at all, just drilled some new holes in the rackmount and used the screws that hold the pedal chassis together as mounting points. I did have to make a short angle bracket for the side of the Vibe that is in the center of the rack. For the KLON I just drilled a pair of 5/16" holes and got some 3/4" x 1/4-20 machine screws to fasten it from the back.

Looks totally pro and works like a champ!
