Question about MuRF and CV/Gate out (Question for Amos)

In the Little Phatty CV-out YouTube video, somewhere around 2:10 there is an example that says: “Use the Gate CV Output to synchronize a MuRF to the Little Phatty’s Arpeggiator”.

Can you tell me how this is done exactly? I can see the patch chord plugged into the LP’s Gate Out but where does it connect to on the MuRF. I can guess that the Arpeggiator is pulsing the Gate out for every note and if the mod rate is modified, so too will be the frequency of the Gate, but is this signal compatible with a “RATE” in on the MuRF? I must be doing something wrong.

Just received the 105M this evening so just learning so please bear with me.

Thanks

I’m obviously not Amos. I think you’ll use the tap/step jack. Each gate signal will advance the Murf pattern one step. Also, I think you need the a cable/adaptor: http://www.moogmusic.com/moogerfooger/?section=product&product_id=213&back_id=21339

You need the pattern adaptor or a stereo “Y” cable. If you use the Y cable, make sure you use the “Ring” not the “Tip” output. The Tip will double your tapped tempo, The Ring will advance through each step one trigger/CV Gate at a time.

Still messing with this. I plugged a Stereo cable into the 105M and patched the ‘ring’ 1/4" into the LP’s GATE OUT.

As it should, each keypress advanced the step of the filter on the Murf.

However, when I kicked an Arpeggio off, it sounded the first note only (the one I depressed). It seems that the Arp doesn’t send Gate out’s?

In the YouTube video, they clearly show the cable in Gate Out of the LP and say that the ARP is used, etc. Is there a difference in the way that the CV Outs work on a Stage II and the way that the Tribute is set or is there some setting I need to tweak in order to enable Gate Out for each Arp key played?

Thanks
