Pulse Surface Controller System released & avail

Hi all, I’ve just received an email from these guys and have placed my order. Don’t know what everyone’s going to make of it, but I thought it was cheap enough to give one a go.

For those who might want to experiment with one, it’s now available for order (domestic USA) and for pre-order to international customers, shipping April 24.

The Pulse Controller is a hardware / software solution that liberates computer-based musicians and performers from conventional input devices by allowing a surface - i.e. desk, laptop, objects and more - to become a playable MIDI controller. An included piezo microphone coupled with a simple yet powerful software interface converts acoustic impulses into MIDI Note messages for playing your software instruments in an intuitive, responsive and connected manner.

Looks like great fun. A simple piezo device, coupled to software giving it MIDI connectivity, makes it a pretty interesting device. Mac only at this stage. US$64 + postage - not bad.

Interesting device thing there.

When I saw it I thought it was a midi controller for your pulse, or heartbeat, that would be awesome. Though maybe it can do that.

I’ll let you know. I hear a bit of Pink Floyd coming on…

The price is right. Looks cool.

I actually have an antique pacemaker that looks very similar to this piezo device, now that you mention it. Before anyone asks, I got said pacemaker from my college nursing lab…they were getting rid of a bunch of cool old stuff. Some of it dated back to 1930.
