Prodigy wood side panels restore

Hi there guys. Recently I bought a beautiful Prodigy with CV/trig mod.
The synth is in perfect condition. However I would like to restore the wood side panels and make the look better. Any recomendation? Sanding tips? Laquer tips?

Thanks in advance,
Augusto.

Do your panels look anything like this?

I just finished working on an Opus 3. The case was already falling apart so it was easy to finish the process. That made it a simple task to sand out the whole thing using a belt sander, then a palm sander to get to this point:

Then, a little Black Walnut stain and some Deft spray on lacquer, some gorilla glue and now:

The original finish was an opaque stain completely covering the grain of the wood. This finish is easy to apply if you have a paint room (no dust) and each one looks identical, but does nothing for the natural beauty of the wood. I especially like the “flame” grain pattern on the front rail of this Opus 3.
