Hello,
I just picked up my Voyager today and it sounds great…when it’s plugged directly into my speakers. When I hook up the voyager (via TRS) into my Roland Quad Capture audio interface (without Ableton turned on), constant sound comes from the voyager, stuck on repeat, without me even touching it and it cannot be turned off. I tried connecting the Voyager directly to my audio interface through MIDI and to my Novation 61SL MKII through MIDI as well, although both may work, but I cannot get Ableton to detect that the Voyager is connected or get any sound to come out at all. I have spent hours messing around with Ableton’s preferences and looking for more information online but nothing is helping. Please excuse me as I am new to analog synths and I’m dying to take advantage of this beautiful instrument. Thank you all for your time.
I have been up all night trying to figure this out and I am still in the same position. Both the Voyager and Ableton manuals are very short on information regarding this subject, unless I am missing something.
Couple of things to check,
Voyager / master menu /midi input & output (make sure input & output are on, take note of channel RX number, should be 1 by default)
Ableton / preferences / midi sync / make sure that Track, Sync & Remote buttons are all selected for input and output on the desired / designated midi ports on your midi interface (going to the voyager)
Make sure you have these preferences selected on the midi channel you have set up for the voyager in Ableton, IE: I have microlite 3 (midi from) and microlite 3 (midi to) selected in the midi clip that is set up for my voyager. You also have your desired midi channel # selected on the clip that corresponds to the Channel RX number selected in your voyagers midi menu.
The stuck note could be ENV.GATE switch is set to on/external on the voyager.
Hope this helps
