PROBLEMS RESTORING FACTORY PRESETS

Hi guys,

I cant seem to restore the original factory presets to my sub 37.
Ive got the sysex librarian and downloaded V1 factory presets (2015) from Moog.
Per instruction I then add the sysex files to the librarian and then click play and it sends to the synth.
It looks like it works but when its finished transferring the patches havent loaded on the synth at all!?
Anyone know what im doing wrong here?
Also I was wondering why there are only 134 presets available for download via the sub37 editor?? Are these just extras where V1 were the original 256?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

I don’t have my Sub 37 anymore, but as far as I remember the last few banks are filled with init presets, so there were never 256 different factory presets.

I believe using the editor you can just drag a preset from your computer to your synth, but I don’t remember the exact steps/buttons. I assume this is explained in the Sub 37 Editor manual, but if you’ve followed those steps without success then I’ll leave this to another Sub 37 owner.

Highlights
Perform in Monophonic or Duo-Paraphonic modes
37-note velocity sensitive keyboard w/ aftertouch
2 modulation busses w/ assignable source and destinations
DAHDSR (Delay, Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain, Release) looping envelopes with sync
256 Presets -16 banks of 16 patches
Standalone and DAW Plugin editor included
Syncable Arpeggiator and Step Sequencer
Classic Moog Ladder Filter with resonance, MultiDrive, and selectable filter slopes.

Taken off the web from a synth shop. It has 256 presets…

I think that’s meant to be read as “offers 256 preset locations”. At least my Sub 37 didn’t come with 256 unique sounds when I received it. There were sounds in the last couple of banks, but they were all just the same init patch as far as I remember. Whether or not there were 134 unique factory sounds I don’t remember. Look at the contents of the factory presets download from https://www.moogmusic.com/products/phattys/sub-37#downloads-tab they’re all in a single SysEx file. Where do you find you downloaded 134 presets?

I never saved/loaded presets using SysEx Librarian by the way, I used the Sub 37 Editor software for that. Have you tried using the editor to save/load presets? I believe the factory presets were also available in the editor software by default, but maybe I remember incorrectly and maybe I added them myself. You can just drag and drop sounds from computer to synth or vice versa. I’m not sure if it also offers a quick way to restore all factory presets though. For that sending the single SysEx file via SysEx Librarian might be the easiest solution.

If the process described in the PDF with instructions that come with the factory presets really doesn’t work for you, I’d recommend contacting Moog support.

Youre right, it has 135 or so presets. The rest of the spaces are free for other patches.
Really misleading, saying it comes with 256..
Anyway, thanks for your help dude!
