Yep. I figured OS2.00 LP patches wouldn’t work on a Tribute. Sorry to hear this. I wish Moog would have confirmed the fact before someone tried it, though.
GregAE said in a post that all patches act the same in both the Stage and Tribute. I’m guessing that the extensions of the file names aren’t .syx. Check that. If all file extensions ARE .syx, then I have no idea. I’m on a Mac, and sysex Librarian is what I use with my UNO. I choose the patch I want to lose, then I click send on the computer, the preset gets sent to the LP. I hope you get the problem worked out.
Actually, what I said was that the patches in the LP Programmer’s Challenge (about 8-10 patches) were checked on both a Stage and Tribute Edition, and sounded the same on both.
In his initial post, Smokemon said he couldn’t restore his own backup sysex file. This could mean any number of things - the backup file is corrupted, has MIDI cabling issues, MIDI-OX not configured correctly, etc. It could also indicate a problem with the new OS, or perhaps a faulty LP (pretty unlikely on both counts, but possible).
smokemon, I have seen some similar issues with loading presets from one OS version to another, but I’m not sure why you couldn’t load your own exported presets back to the machine. Were the presets exported before or after the update to OS2.01?
You could try emailing your faulty/exported presets to me at amos (at) m00gmus1c.c0m and I will see if I can load them to my updated Tribute…
Ok, I backed up my lp stage 2 presets in one go to sysex librarian, but when i load the file back into my LP all i get is jumbled letters and weird stuff All my presets are gone!!!
