Hey everybody!
I am new to this forum and I’m hoping to get some help here.
I’ve got a Rogue that has some strange behaviour.
The thing just won’t key-trigger the contour. Neither for the VCA, nor the VCF. But I know the contour itself is working, because when I switch the sustain off, it runs through the decay I’ve set, and when I switch it on again, it runs through the set attack. But it does this independent from the pressing of keys, as soon as I switchover the sustain switch. If I choose a really long attack (or decay) time, I can hear the progress everytime I press the key, until it reaches sustain level or respectively zero point.
The other problem is, no matter what my VCA-Mode switch is set to, I have to press a key to hear the signal from the oscillators (even in bypass mode), but the noise comes through permanently unaffected by the VCA-Mode setting.
One might think the VCA-Mode switch is broken, but it isn’t, because, if set to keyed it doesn’t do the described sustain-switch-thing while it does when in contour position, so it seems to be working.
I think these problems have the same cause. I checked the whole thing, there are no dry joints, no defective capacitors or resistors as far as I can see.
Anyone of you had a similar problem? I am at my wit’s end. it’s pretty boring to play the Rogue with an organ-style gate and a static cutoff frequency…
im not super familiar with the rogue but it sounds like something not wired right. perhaps it was repaired by the previous owner and the switch was lead to the wrong section. if you have a tech in your area take it in and have them trouble shoot it. do you know of any good synth tech in your area?
