i have just bought a new thermin etherwave standard from e bay from the usa but now find it has a usa 110 volts power adaptor supplied with it what do i need to do to make it safe to use in the uk do i need a step down transformer or something else please advise thankyou gary
You can get a suitable adapter from Maplin.
Don’t buy their cheapest 45W one as it only works with 2-pin plugs and the theremins need a mains earth for stability.
You would probably need their 100W one, product code RS59P at about £27 but for some reason their bigger 300W autotransformer, product code VR05F is currently on special offer at only £20. It weighs 2kg though, definitely for home use rather than carrying around to gigs.
My etherwave cam with a US supply too. I just use and ordinary US to UK plug adaptor, have doe for a couple of years. About a pound or so from any electrical shop.
