According to taurusbass.com registry, “southernone” has numero uno.

You guys know who that is

Who?

El Presidente Mike Adams of course!

Oh, I thought it was going to be Geddy Lee or someone!

Twenty two!

So how many sets of Pedals do famous rockers like Rush buy? IIRC, Alex uses them also (but looks like Roland pedals in use now).

These guys must buy 5-10 sets. 2 each for touring, some for home studio, for on location, for safe keeping, etc.

T-3 # 0028, arrived on 2/17/2010.

Believe it or not, I read in a Rush interview where they were discussing the recording of the Snakes & Arrows album that Geddy had to purchase his one & only set of Taurus Mk-1s back from the friend he had sold them to so he could record with them. I don’t think Rush hoards up the gear like some would believe. As far as I know, Ged & Alex have each relied on the same 2 sets of MIDI pedals for quite some time now…

Yeah Rush isn’t even using any vintage gear now. I read that they sampled all of their synth sounds (including the Taurus) and loaded them into (i think) Roland rackmount samplers, and their PK5’s just trigger the samplers.

Correct, but they don’t use Roland PK-5s, they use what I believe are older off-brand MIDI pedals, with square-edged foot pedals, spaced a tad further apart than the PK-5s are.

I didn’t think they useed PK5’s, but the post above said Roland so I thought what the heck  I think they might be old Korg models? I’m pretty sure all the sampling info was from Guitar Player, around the Snakes and Arrows time.

So no analog gear, but miked washing machines and tumble driers? Oh well, each to their own.

Washers now replaced with dual chicken broilers, and Geddy is playing a Moog Little Phatty for most of his keyboard leads. Makes a world of difference on songs like “Tom Sawyer” - I could tell instantly it was a real Moog last time I saw them in concert.

Nice, it’d be cool to see them live. Probably not gonna happen here anytime soon, but at least the analog is getting through!

Taurus pedals serial number 48 arrived today! Ye haw! :sunglasses:
