Possible to break Taurus via MIDI?

As I played the Taurus via MIDI using a Korg M3 I noticed while running some (Karma) arps that it is capable of producing some really hi frequencies. Is this a potential problem? I ask because I remember some kind of limit on the voice structure but can’t remember where I saw that…

the oscillators should top out around middle C. The filter, if it’s self-oscillating, will put out frequencies across a much wider range. In any case, it is theoretically impossible to break the Taurus via MIDI.

Thanks! I’m a noob when it comes to MIDI (and the T3, obviously) so better safe than lighting the thing up…

BTW Amos, tell everyone there that the T3 kicks butt and is well worth the money (and the wait)! Really nicely executed all the way 'round. Woo hoo!
Oh, and freakin heavy in every sense of the word too…

Airlock, the question for you is, why are you playing the super-high notes when you should be attempting to collapse your dwelling with ungodly low bass frequencies? lol, I’m just jealous that I haven’t gotten mine yet. 437 days now, a few more won’t kill me. Soon, soon…

Ha! Well, no, I was playing the lowest note on the keybed, it was the arp (Karma module) changing the cutoff that was producing those high freqs.
Total noob, I am not worthy, yada yada yada. Just making sure I aint frying anything. :sunglasses: So far…

As for the ability to do the kind of damage that prompted Moog to print a product liability disclaimer, well, to be honest, that right there is everything I’ve always wanted in a musical instrument. :imp:

Im curious to know, If you use a theremin to control the pitch of a Freqbox, the Freqbox will go into ring modulation when you top it out.

Will the taurus do this too?

Eric

no, I’m pretty sure it will just top out at middle C.

Is it possible to harm the Voyager (or LP) if you send a MIDI note that is too high or low?

Thanks Amos.

I actually came to the factory, sorry I missed you and Linda.

Eric

Nope! This will not cause any harm.

I’m pretty sure it will just top out at middle C.

The manual states a range from MIDI Note 0 through MIDI Note 60.

MIDI Note 60 = Middle ‘C’ on the piano.

This would allow for a full FIVE octaves. I have a range of about 3 1/2 octaves on my 5-String Bass.
