Possible Helpful Message During Firmware Update

During the firmware install there is an instruction to hold the pitch wheel up while powering on the Sub 37. I was not sure if and when I could release the wheel during installation.

The first two attempts at firmware upgrade failed at the point where it began to perform the second phase of installation. The first phase went fine.

I finally released the pitch wheel, clicked install again and the both phases of the upgrade worked. I don’t know if it was releasing the pitch wheel or simply “third time is a charm” but I suspect the former.

Perhaps a message indicating the user should release the pitch wheel once the Sub has entered upgrade mode could display to inform the user.

A very good suggestion! It might be too late to change the wording for initial release, but I’ll make sure some wording like this is added the next time we re-build the updater.

Thanks Amos!

I released the pitch wheel after powering up during the 1.1.14 update and it worked first time (OSX 10.10.5)

Thanks too for letting me and my fellow Sub-Humans participate in the beta program. The Editor is very useful and I’m sure it will be awesome upon its release.

Unrelated to the pitch wheel, which I released when the update began, I encountered a similar problem-- the update failed after the first phase. Now the updater does not recognize that the Sub 37 is connected, and Windows Update continues to search for device drivers to no avail. I wonder what is wrong.

**Edit: Windows Update eventually reinstalled the drivers, and I was able to run the Sub 37 Firmware Editor a second time with success.

Thanks for the update.
