"Please load firmware" - help please

hi there

With apologies for a first post being a plea for assistance I wonder if someone could help me please?

I have just been setting up my new Lil Phatty, really enjoyed it for a week or so before I thought I would purchase the software editor in order to store/recall patches. Followed the set up instructions and it seemed to sync up fine. I’m using a MacBookPro.

Installed another midi instrument in the studio and the Lil Phatty it stopped working. Switched everything off then on again, all fine, then the Lil Phatty dropped out, display went scrambled and it now says ‘Please load firmware’.

Anyone know why this has happened?

Can I re-load firmware with Sysex Librarian and if so where could I get the firmware please? I notice it’s available for purchase but not too keen to pay for something that was already on the keyboard!

Many thanks for any help.

cheers, simon

Go to the Moog Website. Go to Products. Go to Phattys. Go to Stage II. Click on the downloads tab. You’ll find the firmware there. And yes, Sysex Librarian will work to upload it.

Thank you very much.

Although still puzzled as to how the Phatty ended up asking for firmware to be loaded?

My playing isn’t that bad!

Ok it is.. :unamused:

There is a button to hold at start up to put the stage 2 and slims into firmware update mode. Were you sending midi data when you powered on the phatty? Did you try power cycling the phatty?

Yes you hold down master on power up.

I wasn’t sending midi no, and yes I did try off then on again.

It’s kaput right now, firmware relaoding makes no difference.

A bit gutted at the moment

Contact Moog support by phone (or email).

Yep, dropped them an email last night. Fingers crossed.

Moog support very helpful, but Absolute music in the UK got a me a replacement out.

Great service from both and I’m back in Moog land

cheers
