Playing a guitar through micromoog

Ive been searching and maybe I’m not very good at it, but could use a bit of help.
I am new to all of this and bought a micromoog. I’m enjoying it immensely.

Anyway I want to know how to hook my guitar to play through it. I tried plugging it into the input, and I have my moog running out through my cube 30 watt amp. It didn’t work. So what am I missing??

You need to amplify the guitar signal to line level and open the gate. Turn the OSC down and press and hold a key or trigger the gate CV input.

What you need to do is put the instrument in bypass mode, and turn the Osc to OFF. Bypass opens the gate up.

Heres a link to the manual that explains much more than you are looking for. Its a very valuable resource for anythesis too:

If you get on Knob Tweak yahoo users group I have posted some files there as well for the micromoog, patch sheets and an article on how the Micro has a “102 Ring Mod inside it”

You’ll also need a preamp with the guitar, or if your amp has a LINE OUT that can plug into the micro (do NOT use speaker out). Also you can use the SEND of your amp’s FX loop if it has one.

I used a bass with active pickups which is probably why I never thought about needing a preamp.
